Parlour by Vulpes Vupes - COMMUNITY SCRAP SHACK

#4 in a series of blogposts from VulpesVulpes reflecting on their AirSpace Gallery Residency activity for  PARLOUR.

Searching for materials for Thursday's PARLOUR Children's Workshop, Anna and Carla found an Aladdin's den of delights and possibilities at the Community Scrap Shack in Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent.

The Scrap Shack, with its tagline - Collect, Conserve, Create - enables everyone to re-use and recycling in a fun and exciting way by reducing the amount of waste going to landfill and extending the life of resources.

They offer a really reasonable membership scheme, which once joined enables you to fill a basket or a shopping trolley with whatever takes your fancy.

The Scrap Shack say
Every day, businesses generate tonnes of waste materials, which are sent to landfill or incineration. Much of this waste is suitable for re-use in the community, in play, education and creative activities.

This is what Anna and Carla got in an hour.
